There is nothing more important for the family today than time together, away from technological devices and all the trappings of modern life. A family vacation in Costa Rica should be about sharing a time and place with one another and making those everlasting family memories. For that kind of family vacation, Costa Rica’s Osa Peninsula is just the place to visit.
Osa Peninsula is wild. Not just in a “geckos on the wall in your hotel room” wild, but much more dramatic: picture a boa in the tree outside your hotel room, or a toucan perched on a branch, or even the early morning visit from a troop of white face (Capuchin) monkey’s on your deck outside. Then you’ll have an idea of the natural wildlife that surrounds a vacation in Costa Rica.
Corcovado National Park is an easy 20-25 minute boat ride from Aguila de Osa’s dock in Drake Bay. For its size the Osa Peninsula which encompasses Corcovado is one of the most bio-diverse region in the world for its ecosystem with 2% of world’s biodiversity. If you can dream it, you might see it here. The diversity near Drake Bay and the Corcovado Park includes primary rainforest, as well as mangrove swamps and the coastal beaches. You will be astonished at the amazing variety of wildlife in our local tropical rainforest. There is so much to see; even the little ones will remain enraptured. Counting the different kinds of birds, reptiles, insects and butterflies would leave you feeling overwhelmed within the hour (although the kids would probably get a kick out of it)!
The sheer number of activities to try on your family vacation in Costa Rica is astounding. From eco-tours to wilderness adventures with kayaking, ziplining and snorkeling, and so much more there is something for everyone interest here in Drake Bay.
While we know you want to experience it all and make memories that will last a lifetime, we also hope you, as a family, will take time to relax, enjoy the view and each other’s company at our rainforest and marine adventure lodge in Drake Bay!
