Kayak enthusiasts will have a blast at Aguila de Osa Inn! The hotel has 7 lightweight, one-person sit-on-top kayaks, for you to use whenever you wish. Our kayaks are comfortable, stable and very easy to maneuver up the Agujitas River and on the open ocean waters from our docks in front of the hotel.
You can kayak for 30-45 minutes up Agujitas River, and spot monkeys, Jesus Christ Lizards, Gekkos, frogs, crabs and more along the riverbed. You’ll hear the ruckus of the scarlet Macaws and other tropical birds living in the canopy overhead. For optimum wildlife viewing it’s best to go slowly and quietly. The water conditions in the Aguijitas River are normally very flat and tranquil, ideal for even the most tepid kayaker.
For those who prefer ocean kayaking you can venture out in front of the hotel, just beyond the protected cove. The shoreline is very rugged, with outcroppings of dark, volcanic rock, small coves and black sand beaches. The lush, verdant rainforest runs along the water’s edge with scenery that is truly spectacular. There is no limit as to just how far you can go!
